Sarah’s unwavering passion for the arts and fashion initiated in her childhood introduction textiles and weaving soon expanded into sewing, spinning, and natural dyeing. Over the years she expanded upon her artistic ability and began painting, drawing and creating digital designs. Showing a knack for fashion design from a young age and having the desire to pursue it further she decided to make that her primary career focus.
Sarah graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Apparel and Textile Design specializing in Applied Art. Expanding her education further she moved to NYC to study Textile Surface Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) where she graduated with an additional degree (Associate of Applied Science (AAS) )
She put her knowledge, experience, and passion to use for the next 5 years in NYC as a print and textile surface designer. These were formative years in her career as she was able to work with many industry experts and collaborate with other creative, talented, and inspired designers. Her time spent in NYC had left an indelible mark on her but knowing that fashion and style are globally influenced, and wanting to expand her skills and knowledge even further, she took a leap and moved to London, England.
In London, she would further explore textile production and printing, sustainable design (another passion of hers), and exactly how fashion brands operate beyond the creative design aspects. The logistical, operational, and managerial side of things are also vitally important to sustaining and growing any business, no less so in fashion. She would spend time traveling, touring, and finding inspiration in all that Europe had to offer. Thoroughly enjoying and cherishing the years she spent there.
Eventually, she felt the need to return to the U.S. with the blue skies, crisp air, and heights of the Colorado Rocky Mountains calling her.
Sarah continues to pursue her lifelong passion for fashion, textiles, and print design. With over a decade's worth of experience in the fashion industry, She has successfully designed and developed prints for apparel products for various fashion brands. She excels in research, design, concept development, technical drawing, sample creation, and production. She is collaborative and seamless in partnering with both designers and manufacturers, is highly organized in managing concurrent projects with competing timelines, and continues to enhance her knowledge and skill in pursuing what she has always loved doing. Designing apparel, accessories, and textiles that people can enjoy using as much as she enjoys creating.
